With only a recent invasion of television and the media, Nepal is still a highly communitarian society and dancing and singing is a regular. The Music and Dance of Nepal are influence by the concept of harmony is tribal animism, Buddhism, and Hinduism. In the folklore of Nepal, religious mask-dances with the sound of large barrel drums illustrate the age-old battle between good and evil.

 The legends state dances in the Indian subcontinent originated in the abode of Lord Shiva - the Himalayas, and the Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal. Nepali classical music owes its origin to Rig Veda. Later the metrical chanting of its hymns found its expression in the songs of Sam Veda. Gaine are the itinerant singers of the Nepalese folk tradition, side-by-side with temple songs.

 Nepali folk dance has the wonderful themes of love and courtship, everyday life, religious worship, happiness and sadness, and often a lot of good-natured Nepalese Dance and Music Culture is the very pride & soul of a Nation. It is just like a mirror that reflects the beauty, nativity & the life pattern of the village people. Music lies in the vary soul of Nepali culture. It represents the humming of a farmer cultivating his land. There are as many different styles of Nepali music and dance as there are ethnic groups. They have own music and dancing history. Some musical dances are Ghatu, Rodhi, Deuda, Selo, etc. These traditional arts are rarely performed outside Nepal.
