Woodcrafting is a specialty of the Newar artisans of the Kathmandu Valley. They make many wooden items to decorate the houses, temples, & other buildings. Not only windows and frames but they also create statues of gods, erotic carvings, traditional figures, and carvings with modern motifs. The wooden images are made by using the same tools that were used a thousand years ago.
